This project is to implement the declarations made by previous Minister of Ocean meetings. The 20th APEC Roundtable Meeting on the Involvement of the Business/Private Sector in Sustainability of the Marine Environment was held in Taipei on December 2-4, 2019. Delegates/participants from 5 APEC Economies (Indonesia, Japan, Korea, USA, and Taiwan) and domestic experts and NGO/private sector representatives to join this meeting. Two themes: Marine Pollution Prevention, and Ocean Energy and Technology is discussed in the meeting. A scientific tour visiting Keelung Harbor on its green port and reducing pollution facilities and Heping Geographic Park was conducted on December 4. It is hoped that sustainable marine environment and resources can be achieved through the collaboration between public and private sectors. The recommendations of general discussion session in this meeting will be presented in APEC OFWG meeting next year.
